Leave Sorrento by 9 a.m. with bread and coffee in the car. First stop: Mount Dora, roughly twenty minutes up the road.
Mount Dora is walkable and dense with shops. Do the lighthouse and lake overlook, then the antique district before it gets crowded.
Head west to Tavares — 'America's Seaplane City.' Wooton Park is the anchor: seaplanes, boardwalk, and lunch on the water.
Finish in Eustis at Ferran Park and the lakefront. It's the quietest of the three and the best for a slow late-afternoon walk.
Loop home down CR 44 and SR 46. Total driving time is under an hour; the day fills itself in between.
Pack a picnic instead of a third restaurant meal. A sourdough loaf, cheese, and fruit in a cooler saves you $60 and tastes better at a lakefront table.
